How does a yard compare to a metre?
1 yard = 91.44 cm = .9144 metres
A Metric fat quarter is the equivalent of a 1/4 metre and measures 50 cm x 55 cm.Multiple orders are cut and sent as a continuous piece, so by ordering by the following sizes is what you will receive:
1 x FQ your fabric will measure 50 cm x 55 cm
2 x FQ your fabric will measure 50 cm x 110 cm
3 x FQ your fabric will measure 75 cm x 110 cm
4 x FQ your fabric will measure 1 metre x 100 cm.
Layer Cakes are 10″ x 10″ squares of fabric from the named collection. Made by Moda Fabrics and typically include 42 pieces of fabric, though the number may vary.
Charm Packs are collections of 42 – 5″ x 5″ squares of fabric. They are affordable, easy to use, and the size is commonly used in quilting. Also often referred to as Charm Squares.
Fat Quarter Bundles are collections of fat quarters (18″ x 22″) from a fabric range. They are quarter-yard cuts of fabric cut wide (hence the name fat). Their approximate size in bundles and can have at least 2 or 3 samples of each fabric from a collection.
Fat Eighth Bundles are collections of fat eighth size (9″ x 22″) pieces from a fabric line/collection.
